Upholland Artists
This is a small local arts society for amateur and professional artists. I've been going there for a number of years despite not actually living in Upholland. The standard is pretty high and its certainly worth a look at the website.
The Merseyside Forum
Run by local artist Terry McGunigle. Part training organisation, part working artist's studio. Currently involved in a number of high profile projects across Liverpool.

I keep thinking I should join this. At any rate its a good reference site for any public monuments in and around Liverpool.
